Today, I finally got my two month old colic baby to go to sleep in her crib without me having to stand up with her. About fives minutes into my nap, someone rings the doorbell. My daughter has been screeching ever since. FML

you should put a sign on the door that says, "if you ring this doorbell I will kill you."

Aw, I hope you and your baby get back to sleep soon.

No because then all the emo kids will show up at his door!

I feel your pain, my dear. My daughter was ridiculously colicky for MONTHS; I was nursing her but no matter what I ate, she had excessive gas. I tried switching her to formula, but she didn't make any progress until I put her on soy. Keep you head up, and maybe try switching what she's eating. Good luck!

My older son was colicky for 6 months and had trouble falling asleep. Things you can try: swaddle her, carry her in a wrap, get those drops that help with passing gas (I don't know how they are called where you live, but ask your doctor). Good luck, and strong nerves!

Awh :( people can be such jerks! My colicky sister and niece lived with me a while as a baby and we taped a sing on top of the door bell saying sleeping baby do not ring, some jerk off mail man still rang it!! I'm sure you've tried everything, but if you haven't yet; swaddle that baby snug as you can and try putting her car seat on top of a dryer with the machine on (under supervision, obviously) or leaving the vacuum on in the same room as her (white noise/motion and whatnot), and for heaven sakes have yourself some earplugs or at least earbuds - this sounds mean, but so long as the baby is in a safe spot and has all their diaper/feeding needs met, you will still be able to notice if the crying stops or changes in pitch (signifying other distress) Mama's need sanity.

Mommas do indeed need sanity, especially during the first few months (speaking from experience). What I don't understand is --- and I'm not trying to sound rude -- but how is it that "people can be such jerks" in this case? Were they automatically supposed to know that the baby was napping? If you have a doorbell, and people want you to answer the door, is it not a natural thing for them to push the button?

Haha! This is true, I forgot that the OP hadn't mentioned that she put a note up saying there was a sleeping baby or something - I assumed that she had and some 'jerk' rang it anyways. I may have just been too caught up in reliving the frustration remembering when that happened to me haha
