"Letting?" Your daughter is 18, you don't really "let" her do anything, she's a grown adult that makes her own decisions, does your mother not understand that, even if you told your daughter no, you couldn't control her getting one. Cutting you out of the will for simple body art is a ridiculous overreaction, I never got the logic behind this, and this isn't even YOUR body art. When people criticize my tattoo, I like to respond with, "my body is a temple, and I'm going to decorate however the hell I want,' lol. Your mother sounds conservative, so maybe don't respond so abrupt like this, but a variation to make her understand that it isn't her body or life might be good.
Baby boomer?
The daughter is 18. She has the right to get a tattoo if she wants, and there's nothing you can do about it. Or maybe your mom is upset because you didn't pitch a fit when your daughter got her tattoo.
