Today, I told my grandma my boyfriend broke up with me. She immediately asked if it was because I didn't put out. I'm 15. FML

And that's when it occurred to you why your mother is 30 and your grandmother is 45.

15 years old and not married yet??? Why in my day, we ladies didn't wait around for silly things like a career and education. No, we had our priorities straight. Psh. You silly younguns. I bet you wear shoes and leave the kitchen too, you uppity girl. Go make that poor old woman some grandbabies right now!

So do 15 year olds not copulate in the us?

Not like it never happens, but it is illegal in most states. The legal age of consent is typically between 16 and 18, and often with restrictions before the age of 18, such as age limits on sexual partners. Although I've heard the age of consent is as low as 14 in at least one state.

1, it's more about the grandmother immediately assuming OP was active at a young age than that.

They do (obviously) but it's also pretty young for someone to assume that you are having sex.

29, class and self-respect has nothing to do with sex. You can have both and be sexually active as well.

not at 15 grandma is watching too much Jerry Springer

#29, I don't think you're qualified to talk on behalf of people with class and self respect.

Actually being sexually active at a younger age means that you have a not so good family life like not much love from parents or some similar factor which makes you search for other sources of comfort like boyfriends and girlfriends. It doesn't have much to do with self respect or class.

Different era guys. Im assuming that grandma is from the 70s...

48 that's like saying a person who gets abused is ******* all the time

Unless you are a guy who has had a misfortunate accident that has nothing to do with it.

I'm glad you are happy, with your ID. But sexual ID has almost nothing to do with how much 'you do the deed".

Being trans doesn't mean you can't have sex, child. Please grow up.

I believe he wasnt referring to his age when he said 29, but rather a user number who deleted their comment

It is a valid question. I'm not saying you should be sexually active, I'm just saying its a valid question.

No, it implies that OP should put out to stay in a relationship. Hence that if she doesn't, it's her fault they broke up.

I don't think Granny was implying anything, just asking a question. And since some girls put out at 15, and some boys will break up with a girl because she doesn't put out, its a valid question. If any one thought I was implying that the girl should put out that was all you. I never implied that.

Or it could've gone like this: G- Is it because you don't put out? Girl- Yes :( G- I thought so... I'm glad he broke up with you because boys like that ain't worth it. Stay true and don't put out unless you're ready. The right person will wait for you ;)

Don't listen to your grandma. You don't want to end up on the tv show "Teen moms".

Lots of 15 year olds are having sex these days, but I'm glad you are not one of them, OP.

She could have been asking in the case that the guy was pressuring you. I know my mother asked that at that age. It's not uncommon. I don't know the full story but I doubt she was asking in a way of saying 'it's your fault you didn't put out'
