Today, I lost 10% of my marks on a school history assignment because I submitted it literally 1 minute late. FML

There are deadlines for a reason. You may not agree with them but that's not up to you. That's why it's best to always have things done before they're due. Shit happens- you could lose power, the Internet could go out, you ran out of ink, etc. some professors don't care.

I'm mildly concerned about this being under intimacy. Why is it under intimacy? OP THE 10% IS NOT WORTH THAT.

That is your fault. You must learn to turn these things in on time, no matter what. I couldn't print something for an entire week and got a 0 for it because I had to email it instead of printing it and turning it in.

But 10% off for 1 minute. It makes more sense if it was a day, because it's a whole day, but no teacher says what TIME you turn it in."Oh, yeah, gimme sec imma wait in this room until 10:34 to turn in my assignment."

The one minute could make it the next day. Also, this FML needs a YDI button, because that's what you get for procrastinating. Don't get me wrong, I'm not ms perfect, but when something like that happens to me I know it's my own damn fault.

Honestly, those time limits are arbitrary anyway and would it kill them to have some reasonable margins? Yes, officially you 'should've handed it in days before to make sure this doesn't happen.' but we all know that doesn't happen. If your teacher finishes their grading by 8am sharp, they have a right to complain, otherwise they should get that stick out of their ass and show some leniency.

Better 10 points than all points for being late thus not being accepted. Welcome to the real world.
