Today, and for the past week or so, even though there have been no changes to her routine and her litter box is kept clean, my cat has decided she'd rather pee in the middle of the dining room table. FML

If it continues, take her to a vet. It can be a sign of illness (like an urinary infection ). But then again, sometimes cats are just assholes ;)

I hear you - my cat decided out of nowhere to pee on any clothing she finds on the floor and poop BEHIND the litter box. Pretty sure she's just being an asshole.

A cat that pees on any clothes on the floor says: clean the ******* room! Yeah, they might be assholes (they are indeed) but they are clean assholes :) One of our cats sits on the edge of the litter box sometimes. Not really sure why, they are a mystery.

I have a cat that pees on the carpet in the living room and in the kitchen floor. It's aggravating. We have 3 litter boxes and she pees in the floor. She is 16 years old and has been stressed a lot so that could be it. I say take it to the vet. It does sound like a urinary infection. Good luck!

There are only ever two reasons a cat is dirty outside the litter box other than it not being clean; a) she's sick, b) you pissed her off recently.

Take her to a vet. Cats will pee and poop in odd places to tell you they're sick or something is wrong.
