I think a talk with him should come before his parents. I think 13 years is old enough to try and figure something like that out before resorting to talking to his parents. If talking to him solves nothing, then go to the parents. (That's just my opinion)

I was thinking the exact same thing, unless he's very immature for his age and/or has special needs and/or there's smaller siblings he's too young to mind himself...I'm a babysitter myself and the oldest child I've minded was 10 (also, by the time I was 11 my mother stopped getting me babysitters).

Lots of reasons. Younger siblings, don't trust the kid,, they don't want the kid home alone overnight, he has special needs, if it's over night maybe they don't trust the kid to make his own food.

I assume if he is jacking it to someone's jacket I assume he's not exactly a well rounded trustworthy kid lol

ADD/ADHD children, autistic children, children who are going throu a streak where their parents don't trust them. Children who are afraid to be left home alone for too long. I had a summer babysitting a thirteen year old as well as a twelve year old because they couldn't get food themselves. Overbearing parents also.

#19 At the same time, chances are that if the kid is old enough to spank it to a jacket, I'm pretty sure that he has at least a basic understanding of what not to do in a house... Granted I never had a babysitter that I could remember because the first time I was left home alone was when I was 8 and I was already a bit of a recluse and my mom knew that I was smart enough to not burn the house down while she was gone.
