Today, to teach my 14-year-old son a serious lesson for bullying a child at school again, I grounded him for the rest of the year. He just snorted and said, "Cool, I'll just jack off all year then! Thanks, mum!" and happily retreated to his bedroom. FML

Take away his computer then. At least make it boring for him

Very original response to a year of grounding haha Better change your tactics

Sounds like he's taking it pretty hard... Tell him there's no reason to beat himself over it!

Take away his internet, TV, electronics, etc, and/or take away his door. I think the door would be most effective.

when he is asleep glue some hairs to his palms.

He might just be acting happy so you think it's not working and unground him. His morale won't be like that forever after repetition for so long.

Maybe he's a bully because he's sexually frustrated. "Jack away, son."

Your son doesn't know jack about getting along with others.

You should make him do something that takes his ego down a notch, OP. Make him apologize to the kid in front of a large crowd. Or if you can somehow arrange it, make him practically be the kid's slave for a week. :)

I think the "rest of the year" is a little bit of an empty threat and an exaggeration-like you were trying to sound dramatic and threating....but it really sounds like he just called your bluff.

Exactly! Grounding for a year is ridiculous and the parent won't ever follow through with that. If you're going to punish him do something that will hurt him but that you will also be able to stick to!
