17 isn't totally wrong here. Yes, your night still may be fun, unlike hers, but if you are blacking out your body is telling you there is a problem. And lack of water or food only makes you get there sooner because there's nothing in your stomach to help it from getting to your bloodstream faster. Either way, if you get to the point of blacking out, it is dangerous, which I believe was the point of 17's comment.

Why is this a FML? I know I could have just hit ydi but seriously, unless something crazy happened, than this is definitely not a fml moment. Hell, it probably happened to a bunch of people the same night.

I agree with the second half of that wholeheartedly. As for the limitations, some people don't know their limits until they've hit it. This, of course, varies with different drinks and alcohol contents. That being said, when OP said she could handle herself, I don't think she knew what her limits were at that point (giving her the benefit of the doubt if it wasn't the case).
