meh. People have a tendency to be rude and inconsiderate flakes and think nothing of it. Though it would be nice if we knew how many people RSVPd which would give a more accurate idea of if the small turn out was because they're rude or because the person is a jerk.

Don't take it personally. A lot of people want to go the hell home after they get off work. If you'd had the party AT work, they'd have got paid to attend.

Never throw yourself a party. If someone wanted to celebrate your new job, they would've thrown you the party.
