Context is important, so don't jump to conclusions. Maybe he was texting a friend who doesn't like you, and lied about intending to break up with you to get said friend off his back. Maybe a friend stole his phone while he was passed out or something and tried to prank you with that text. Not saying it's likely... just saying, don't jump in and do something you might regret.

I want to know HOW the boyfriend is shitty in this situation. I'm giving OP's boyfriend the benefit of the doubt and say he didn't send that text to her on purpose. Now, if he didn't send it on purpose, then what reasoning is there for you people to believe he was going to break up over text? And tell me why it's so wrong for a guy to break up with a girl? Would it be okay if a girl broke up with a guy? If so, why is it wrong for him to break up with her? Are guys not allowed out of something that's either making them unhappy or just simply not what they're looking for? All of you are acting like he cheated on her or something. Geeze.
