I had a car tailgating me once, I sped up to create a gap, he filled it, he was right up my ass, all I could see where headlights, I sped up he sped up. I finally dived onto the shoulder and hit my brakes, then he flipped his whoppie lights on... asshole hit me with a ticket for going 80 in a 55, this was before dash cams.

I completely agree with you, and that is so sad about your friend's wife. I fail to understand the childishness of people not wanting to be passed on the road. Yes, it is annoying when someone passes you only to slow down in front of you, but you know what you do rather than speeding up when someone tries to pass? You just pass them if need be. No big deal. I don't get the big competition to be first in line.

That's still potentially dangerous and not smart at all though. What if a construction zone is ahead and you don't see it until you're fairly close? Why be an idiot to people just because a few people have slowed down in front of you? Not to mention that paying too much attention to keeping someone from passing you could cause you to become distracted and cause an accident. All you have to do if someone slows down in front of you is pass them. No big deal, and not worth the fuss of pacing them. Not to mention that by intentionally keeping someone from passing can lead to road rage as well.

What an absolutely horrible thing to do to someone. You're an asshole and no question deserve that. I hope someone literally ***** on you.
