as a disabled (handicapped is an offensive word) person- I agree with the person. go pee earlier next time. don't wait until the last minute. some of us with disabilities HAVE to go or it could hurt us. be more considerate next time and THINK!! And to those of you who will blast me, shut up!
Since when has the word handicapped been offensive? If anything I would be MORE offended by being called disabled, since it implies that you're, ya know, 'not able.' And how the hell is OP being inconsiderate? If anyone was being inconsiderate it was the whiny bitch in the wheelchair who flipped her shit because she had to wait an extra 30 seconds to go to the bathroom.
I thought the current PC term was "handicapable", which makes me cringe.
Can't the "go pee earlier next time" argument work both ways, though? I'm genuinely trying to be empathetic and inoffensive here, since, as I said earlier, I've had mobility issues myself. So please don't get defensive; I'm trying to understand. I understand that certain disabilities can mess with your sensitivity and bladder control, and even if you can, holding it too long can be dangerous. In that case, though, perhaps it's best to be prepared alá incontinence products before going out into public. Pregnant women sometimes have to do that. Besides, if holding it is so dangerous, what would you do if the only accessible stall was out of order or being cleaned?
iicaptain, she's not in the wrong thread. Fail.
Here comes a sensible reply from a (non-handicapped) Texan. Everybody gets mad when you diss them, some just handle it differently. Generalizations drawn from ones ethnicity or origin create stereotypes, which are after all, based in truth. None the less, some people find these stereotypes offensive. I don't really care, I know it feels pretty good in Texas right now :)
This is so made up.. you saw the Curb your Enthusiasm commercial today which is exactly like what your story is about but with men instead.
I see nothing wrong with what OP did. It'd be one thing if they were both in the bathroom waiting when the handicapped stall became available. In that case, OP should've let the other lady go first, since OP could take the next available one and the other lady could not. But OP couldn't know the lady would come in, and she was simply using the only available stall. OP wasn't just using that one because she wanted to stretch her legs out or something. IMO, this is a good example of the disabled (or minorities, or whatever) having equal rights vs. extra rights. Having equal rights would mean not waiting any longer than an able-bodied person would-- they'd both have to wait only as long as it takes for an accessible stall to become available. Having extra rights would mean never having to wait in any bathroom line, ever-- something an able-bodied woman would never experience, and something that isn't totally necessary.
handicapped stalls are designated handicapped accessible not handicap ONLY! their bladders aren't handicapped.
*facepalm* I can't even begin to address this one.
She doesn't get to skip the line at the grocery store just because she's in a wheelchair, so why should the bathroom line be any different? Her legs may work differently, but her bladder does not. Spin those wheels a little faster next time, bitch.

I can understand her being upset if you're not handicapped. but he should just chill out if it was the only stall open what were you supposed to do?
The handicapped chick needs to calm the hell down. It's not like she personally owns the stall. She's not royalty and being handicapped doesn't mean she is above waiting her turn like anyone else. What a bitch. You should have cussed her out back.
