Today, I came home to find my dad crying. Turns out my parents are getting divorced because my mom had an affair. With a teacher at my school. A female teacher. And the school isn't going to fire her because she's a good teacher. Every day at school I'm going to have to see her. FML

Why should the school board fire her? It's the teacher's private life and she's not having an affair with one of the students, so why should it be a problem at school? It's gonna be awkward for you and I understand that you must be really upset about it, but you not liking her shouldn't be a reason for her to lose her job.

her father cares about her mother having an affair. period. i dont think it matter whether it was a man or a woman. an affair is an affair. thats all there is to it. the fact that this child has to deal with seeing the teacher everyday is a different story. shame though.

My mom was married to my dad for 20 years because she wanted a family and wanted to make her parents happy. It does happen. Now she's in a relationship with a woman and she's much happier being herself.

Exactly. A lot of lesbian women, and gay men, merely choose to marry someone of the opposite gender for... well, any reason. Cover up their true sexuality from scornful, prejudiced family members, mostly. Sometimes they don't understand the feelings inside themselves and convince themselves they're straight. #225 - I understand what your getting at, but, er, can we say 'homophobia'? Geesh, people could at least try to be more tolerant of sexual orientation these days. # 233 - you stupid twat. All these arguments about America's health and education systems and gun laws have nothing to do with the FML, though personally I reckon they shouldn't have guns and their health system is kind of like "Hey, healthcare for everyone! But only if you can afford it, otherwise you're screwed!" That aside, technically, the teacher probably shouldn't be fired - kids these days don't seem to care about teachers, so why is it important if they're "setting a good example"?

wtf people? how can you not have sympathy for this girl? You've obviously never been through a divorce. the issue isn't about the teachers sex life, it's not proffessional to sleep with the student's parents! she should be fired. what if the teacher does this again? test scores have been going down partially because of divorce in kid's lives. If she's causing divorces, then she's not doing her job ! && maybe her dad is a decent man who only wanted ONE girl in his life. and she just walked away. I'm pretty sure he wasn't thinking of getting a threesome when they got married.
