I agree, what a terrible thing to put a student through. at least wait until she's not your student anymore. it's even worse if it was just a fling. If it was just a fling I would destroy that teacher's life
I don't think the teacher should be FIRED, but perhaps switched to a different school. I agree that one's personal life is their personal life; however, the OP's mother had an affair with one of the OP's teachers, thus affecting the OP significantly more than if it had just been with a random stranger. Also, I know I shouldn't assume, but the teacher and the mother probably knew that they were connected by the OP to begin with, and thus the teacher knew the OP's mother was married, making both parties guilty. For those of you saying it would be stupid to fire the teacher for having a personal life, go research newly arising problems with Facebook. People can and have gotten fired over something they've posted over Facebook, whether it be pictures, complaining to a friend about a coworker/boss on their wall, or whatever. The fact is, peoples personal lives aren't very personal anymore. Go in for a job interview at a large corporation, teaching (I'm pretty sure since teachers have to have ridiculous things done to make sure they're not criminals...), or the government, and they'll most likely ask you to open up your Facebook account. Sure, you could just say no, or say you don't have one, but they would take that as suspicious and look at it anyways (if it's on Facebook, it's public domain, therefore not illegal. Even if you have the strictest privacy settings, there is still software out there that can find you). So people have been fired for stupider things than having a lesbian affair with the mother of a student, because in the eyes of employers, one's personal life is a direct reflection on who they really are, and how they might act at work (obviously not always true, but employers don't seem to care).
harsh and sad its not her fault at all
Why on earth would your father care about your mother having an affair with a woman? Geeeez...
I know someone this happen to too, but with their dad. that sucks. i'd never speak to that parent again for ruining the family like that.
oh stop being an immature selfish bitch and get over it. Why would they fire a teacher? its not like she was having an affair with you. Plus, seems like your parents had a pretty boring relationship lately, that caused your mom to move on to the"better" side lmao. Just be happy for her damnit.
Aww that sucks! hope things work out. Im from Victoria too. haha (Y)
Keep complaining to the board. Enough complaints about her and how she is effecting your mental well being will see her fired sooner or later.

Why should the school board fire her? It's the teacher's private life and she's not having an affair with one of the students, so why should it be a problem at school? It's gonna be awkward for you and I understand that you must be really upset about it, but you not liking her shouldn't be a reason for her to lose her job.
AWKWARD!
