Oooh. Idk what to say to this post, so I'll just say that I don't know what to say. Which I already said... alright, I'll be going now.
Same thing happened to a mate of mine a while back. Turns out, the guy had a speech impediment.
one of my good friends had an unexplained stroke when she was 11 years old, and i work with disabled people in my volunteer job, so i can tell you that people will let it slide if someone doesn't know their condition. you tried to give the woman a compliment and i'm sure she appreciated the effort.
ahahah lmao sucks one time my teacher asked my friend why he spoke so weird it was because he had alisp :P
Later today on MyLifeIsG..... "I had a stroke a few months ago and have since been having problems with speech, and it's made me very self-conscious. Today I was talking to a very nice young man in a store. He asked me where my beautiful accent was from. Now I feel happier and less self-conscious. MLIG." If she didn't get pissed, it's probably fine. You were just trying to be nice. You couldn't have known it was a medical condition. Better that than "What the **** is wrong with your voice?! Are you retarded?!" Of course, then it'd be a major YDI.
thats hilarious HAHA
LOL
I agree with #45

at least you didn't make fun of it. if anything, i hope she would feel better since you called her speech beautiful. i mean i know it's still awful, but it's a little better
That does suck, but the way this is worded implies that the woman is a stranger. How were you to know she had a stroke? I don't think it's an FML or a YDI. Just kind of embarrassing.
