Today, every "entry level" job in my field is now requiring 2-5 years experience. I don't think they understand what "entry level" actually means. FML

Thanks for the support and encouragement everyone, it's nice to know that I wasn't totally degraded for something that's been extremely frustrating. I'm very lucky the currently have a full time job (A supervisory position, at 24, as a woman!). And for those wondering, my field is business administration. i have a Bachelor's degree and plenty of legitimate work experience, just not experience that is directly related to what they want. so *whoosh* in the trash goes my resume!

Jobs these days expect more than they say they do so... Like the saying goes "no job no experience, no experience no job". Good luck op

I had the same problem looking for my first job. I would apply to every "entry level" position around, only to be declined because I had no experience. I even got declined at ******* Kroger. BUT, your time will come OP :) I'm a manager now, so it's possible.

Try and get an internship at a job you want to work at while in college. Hopefully upon graduation, you will have your 2-5yrs experience, and they will hire you.

I went through the same thing when I was unemployed. My advice, take any internship even unpaid to get experience and network as much as possible. It's all about who you know.

Keep trying and maybe explain? There has to be some loophole...

I've found that a lot of places asking for unpaid interns require that the applicants have at least a year of experience, which makes no freakin sense.

Finally. Someone who understands what I'm going through!

Am I the only one questioning the field?
