Today, at work, I had to explain to my co-manager at work what a period was, after he refused to let an employee go change her tampon. Afterwards, he panicked, saying he thought women made that up so they didn't have to have sex, before trying to send her to the hospital and fainting. We're 24. FML

I'm just speechless. How is this possible for a grown-up man in his twenties?

Amazing(ly lame) how just the thought of women actually having periods was enough to make him faint. Also, the way he thought all women were in on this evil sex-denying conspiracy is kind of awful (as well as obviously stupid).

A guy I shared university halls with was absolutely horrified when he found out the bins in our shared bathrooms were for sanitary products. Never seen anybody look so ill... just from finding out he had been in a cubicle where tampons/towels etc were temporarily contained. Made my day.

No surprises here.....'murica...and it's education system....

ummmmm...wow....and this is your boss? public education at its finest.

Epic fail. You think he knew about the birds and bees by now!! Actually, the female coworker could go into toxic shock syndrome if she doesn't remove it for days....

He must be one of those kids who have their parents exclude them from the talk in year 6 loooool

Seriously?! Didn't he take health class?

When I was a preteen and learning about puberty and periods and stuff I thought that no boy had the right to know that girls even got periods, that my mother or other women I trusted were the only ones I could openly talk about it with, and that I shouldn't even tell adult males about my period. When we got these "girls only" booklets at school in grade 6 one of the FAQ's in it was, "What if I start my period in class and my teacher is a man?"
