Today, after months of searching I finally got a job interview. Too bad I didn't have enough money to buy a bus ticket to get there. FML

You also didn't have enough money to walk there? Or ring the neighbours doorbell to ask if you could use their phone to ask a friend to take you there?

And you don't know anyone with a car that could have given you a ride? No friends or family or neighbors? Also, I don't know many people that don't at least give you a day or two before the actual interview... If you wanted the job that bad, you would have begged, borrowed, or stolen to get to the interview.

Oh, bullshit! Israel's a tiny country. You have to be pretty lazy or out if shape not to be able to reach anywhere by foot. Maybe if the interview is in Eilat you should wake up early and bring some water.

You seriously couldn't borrow a couple of bucks for the bus ride, or ask someone to drive you?

well it's a couple of shekels in this case... come on i thought israelis are all one hand and very helpful to each other.nobody could lend you money? OP you should've sold your computer, it would've paid for enough bus rides until you got your first salary..

That's why you don't have $$. you're lazzzy!

walk. ask a neighbor / family member / friend for a ride. take a bicycle. you gave up way too easily.

It could be possible that he got the call and they wanted him to come in the same day. I have had an interview and they called me the same day. And if that was the case how many people do you know that are at home during the day on a week day? Where he could ask someone for a lift or ask to borrow some money? Most people I know are at work. And walk to the interview, you must be joking, right? I wouldn't want to turn up to a interview all sweaty and out of breath and I wouldn't employ someone that comes into an interview like that. First impressions count!!

I'll add my suggestion to walk, cycle, or find someone to give you a lift. Personally I was exceptionally lucky when living in London. I had just enough cash to buy a weekly ticket, so travelled to the city every day and walked around to distribute my cv. I was lucky enough to be interviewed on the spot at most places (for an IT job) and asked to start the next day. Had to ask to get paid after the first week as well (paid monthly).

and u cudnt call a friend to take u because???????
