Today, I was invited by my boyfriend's parents for dinner at their house. The dinner went well I thought, until I was getting ready to leave. Before I could make it out the front door, I could hear them discussing their disappointment that their son would ever consider someone like me. FML

that's rude as hell. assuming u didn't do anything "wrong"...but even still, that's really shitty.

Pricks! It's not their decision though, so don't worry about them.

wow...how rude! but don't worry cuz it doesn't even matter what they think

I don't understand all this negative reaction. It's perfectly normal for people to hold opinions of others whether positive or negative. And it assuming the BF has a close relationship with his family, their opinion DOES MATTER.

Wow, that's just rude and cold. I hope this doesn't ruin your relationship if you two really like each other.

Don't worry about it. My future mother in law hated me when she first met me but now things are so much better. I think she was worried about me corrupting her son and leading him astray but now she sees that I love him and I look after him. She makes me feel like part of the family and it is great! you'll get there-just give it time.

they sound like real asshats. I'd recomended filling there car with bulletproff lucite. mm hmm no air for you.

Honestly sounds like something my mom would say. -_- Just out of spite, keep dating him.

Urgh, hopefully they pull the stick out of their ass soon. Might just be overprotective of the son? If not, keep dating him just to piss them off :')

I'm going to go out on a limb and say YDI, only because we don't know what you did during dinner to make them feel that way. :)
