Today, after 3 months of job hunting, I finally got a job. But now my birth certificate and social security card are somehow lost, and I can't start until I let them see a copy. FML

Psst...not all FML's are written in California - or even US...or even anywhere close....And what proper documents might be - is often different in different companies...just saying..

Why would you even start looking for a new job without the proper documents in hand? That’s the first thing they as for in California, USA or they won’t even talk to you

That’s a bummer but it’s a good thing you realized that now - those are important documents to keep track of. I hope you can find them or get new copies quickly so you can keep your job
