Today, my boyfriend told me he wanted to elope, but didn’t know if it “would be worse to tell my parents we got married or keep letting them think we’re living in sin.” Basically it would be worse that we got married so soon rather then just living together. FML

I was in a similar situation. We got married a month early and my parents were pissed at us because they could no longer say we were living like we were married and take issue with it. Go ahead. Elope. **** your parents, go live your life together and forget them until you've healed enough from their shit. Best wishes, OP.
