Sounds like night terrors. I forget the fancy medical term for it, but it is a treatable condition. Tell your doctor about it when you go get that laryngitis checked out.

You should probably talk to a doctor about that, and maybe even get a referral to a sleep specialist, because that's not only abnormal, but is also unhealthy and interfering with the amount of rest you get from your sleep. If this happens with any frequency, you could develop polyps on your vocal cords, which can require surgery to remove. The polyps would REALLY interfere with your job.
