Today, I donated blood for the first time, and all the nurses kept complimenting on how good my veins were. That's the nicest thing anyone has said to me in the past 2 months. FML

Of course OP has more than one good quality. OP has multiple veins. ;)

I understand that everyone likes to hear nice things about themselves from other people. Still, as long as you know you're a good person, and you love yourself, you should be fine whether or not people give you compliments.

Pity-fests really aren't the answer. Get out, get to know people, make good friends. Posting on FML is a sign of hitting nearly rock-botton :(

The fact that you're donating blood shows that you're a nice person, so if it's been two months, you probably hang around assholes. Or your friends just assume you already know that you're a good person. It doesn't matter really. Just remember that it doesn't really matter what people say- They can call you dumb or smart and it wouldn't necessarily be true. The most important thing is that you know yourself; if you know that you're a good person, good for you- Doesn't matter what others think. You'll find some real friends eventually (under the assumption that your current friends aren't all that good to you). Either way, don't worry too much about what others think. I'm sure you're a good person, considering you're donating blood and all that. Edit: Heh, took kind of long with this. #4 has it right.

I'd be worried about vampires if I were you.

Nurses love huge veins. I lived with a house of student nurses last year and they did talk about them a scary amount.

How in the world does someone tell if you have good veins?

Nurses really do get excited about good veins ( #9, its when they're large, close to the surface, and don't roll around). I talk about them regularly and compliment my friends on their veins. I'm sorry that your current friends are jerks though. You'll get some true friends at some point.
