that makes me more depressed
Awww, I'm so sowwy OP!
Lucky, my parents know that I've been diagnosed with depression but every attempt to ask them for their help has been interpreted as nothing more than me giving them attitude. This is probably because when my mother does it she is actually giving us attitude
He might be reverting to acting the way he would if OP were still a small child. To OP's dad, OP is still his little girl and she's hurting so he treats her the way he did when she was younger when she was hurt. It might even be unintentional and instinctive. I doubt he means to be insulting or condescending and is probably just trying to help.

At least he is trying to help. There are far too many parents out there who don't care at all.
Everyone tries to help out in different ways, some people don't know how to deal with certain situations and maybe that's just his attempt at trying to help. Just let him know that's not the way to do it and I'm sure he'll understand and stop.
