Today, I stumbled across one of my son's English assignments. Apparently, he decided to submit a haiku about how electrical outlets are technically "whores" because they hook up with countless cords for a "charge." I don't know whether to be amused or furious. FML

Be amused, that kid knows what's up; don't trust outlets... I wouldn't date one

You know that can also be said the other way around. Clever kid.

Not bad. Pretty clever for a kid. Kind of disturbing that he knows so much about ****** though.

Even if his subject matter is. . . unique, at least he was able to make the assignment entertaining. The fact that he could apply what is likely a vastly dissimilar concept to the poem than he was taught shows that he understands the material.

Both. Say it's funny and clever, but not appropriate for school.

Why would you be furious? It seems like it's pretty harmless and he's obviously pretty smart

take a chill pill and go with the flow XD

Cute, but teachers will get annoyed with students that continuously don't take the work seriously even it is "technically" correct". I've had classmates asked to leave because everything to them was funny,or tried to reference some internet joke and were clueless.

I find that ridiculous. If you're learning and can obviously comprehend the information, why does it matter? Those teachers should be glad the information sunk in, regardless. Yes, some courses are of serious topics, but why do they have to BE serious? Learning should be fun!

I'm not saying you shouldn't have with it it. It largely depends on the professor and the assignment/class. As long as they aren't asked to find a science article and pick one about ebola patients being zombies they are probably fine.

Your son's a genius, I'll never be able to look at a plug socket in the same way ? lol
