Even if it's really tempting, we're not going to make fun of little people, because half of the FML crew is not as tall as it should be. Plus, midgets are cooler than we think, remember the red dwarf in Twin Peaks? That guy knew how to speak backwards, which has got to be one of the most amazing pick-up techniques when you're on a date. And Snow White, nobody can deny the fact that's she's ho.. good-lookin, and she's living with not just one, but seven dwarfs. Eva Longoria (ex) Parker is 5 feet, 2 inches tall, and she's the most amazing woman on earth. You understood, little is beautiful, and today's artist has got it too.
-What's your name and surname?
-How old are you?
-Where do you live?
-The lovely city of Melbourne in Australia
-What do you do for a living?
-I'm a freelance illustrator
-What's your story? (school, job..)
-I've never officially studied illustration, although I did study fine arts for a couple of years, finishing up in 2008 with a clearer sense that illustration, and not painting, was what I wanted to do.
-What are your projects?
-Currently I'm in the middle of some freelance projects, one being redesigning a game that will be played through Facebook.
-Can you tell us about your blog/website? (How did it started, etc..)
-I started my blog in 2007 after wanting a cleaner place to showcase my work other than DeviantArt. I noticed alot of professional artists and illustrators using blogger also that inspired me.
-What inspires you (artists, movies, etc..)?
-Comics/graphic novels are always inspirational with their original ways of storytelling through pictures and words, in particular Robert Crumb's work stands out to me. His ability as a draftsman is astounding and I love his ability to swing between styles so effortlessly. His autobiographical comics are always my favourites of his.
Other than those, I love movies and they definitely serve as an inspiration, Picnic at Hanging Rock being one of my favourites. And Tori Amos, Joni Mitchell and other artists I'm too embarrassed to admit are always playing on my Itunes when I'm drawing and definitely help me get through those long hours.
-What makes you laugh the most?
-Probably the stupid-but ultimately endearing- things my cats do. Also, human nature in general. We're so complicated!
-Why did you choose this FML?
-I was originally going to pick a story with animals in it, since they are my favourite things to draw. But this story was cute-and also relatable since I am 5 foot 2 myself!
-Do you have your own FML anecdote that you can share us?
-I was driving in a car with my cousin one morning when she flicked something off her arm and onto my leg. Without seeing what it was I flicked it off my knee and told her to stop the car. Once out of the car squealing we checked our backs, hair for any creepy crawlies but found none. Nor could we find it in the car which was parked off the side of the freeway. Resigned to the fact we couldn't find whatever it was that had scared us I gave my clothes one last shake, including my legs of my trousers-when a Hunstman spider fell out! I couldn't believe it. Needless to say, my already bad arachnophobia has only got worse!
