Who the fuck asked you?

Today, my fiancée's ex sent me screenshots of their conversation. In it, he told her how badly he’d wanted to marry her, what a great life he'd have given her and what a huge mistake she'd made by letting him get away. My ring, our house even our pets should’ve been hers. Gee, thanks for settling. FML

Everytime I read this it comes off as though you're staying with him. If that is the case you should seriously reconsider. No one deserves to be with someone who views them as their second choice. If you're marrying that person both of you should be each other's first choice. You're setting yourself up for a lifetime of unhappiness if you're staying with him and personally I feel as though being single is far better than being with someone who does not value or treat you the way you deserve.

Don't think I could marry someone who would drop me for their ex in a heartbeat, and then is actively communicating that to their ex.

Though I guess that's why I'm single, good luck.

Let’s be honest, a lot of us don’t end up with our “first choice” because they were not interested. It’s not unusual to have people think: I would love to marry Benedict Cumberbatch, or Chris Evans, or Scarlett Johansson or Keira Knightley. Basically none of us will. And I’d bet a lot of married people still think “what if things would have worked between me and my college/high school flame,” but it didn’t work out, and if we think straight there is usually a darn good reason.

What’s really telling is his unwillingness to let his ex go, and focus on you, and more importantly the dishonesty and lack of respect for the commitment to you. Love and marriage is about picking someone and committing and sticking through it in the highs and lows, and them commuting back. It’s making a choice, and sticking with it, and letting go of other options. The issue is that he’s clearly not willing to make that commitment to you.

Isn't fiancée female? OP's icon is also male. So it seems the ex (male) is trying to get the fiancée (female) back. Argh, this confusion makes my head hurt!

so I'm hoping this ex sent this to you to warn you what your fiance is up to! honestly from what I read, it seems like your fiance is texting her all this stuff in Hope's of making her jealous and want to get back together with him! I would seriously reconsider marrying this person if hes doing this behind your back. you deserve to be with someone who 100% wants to spend their life with you and nobody else!
