TV Channel Dedicated To Christmas Movies Goes Live In September

Merry Christmas?

Too soon, guys. Too soon.

Four days ago, with 13 weeks left until Christmas, it happened. A special new TV channel was launched in the UK, completely dedicated to Christmas movies. Yes, citizens of the UK now have a back-to-back Christmas movie marathon that'll last until the beginning of January 2019.

We know that Thanksgiving isn't a "thing" across the pond, but they still brutally steamrolled Halloween. They couldn't even wait until the first day of autumn! Is nothing sacred over there? Have they (TV execs, not all Brits) no shame?

Christmas movies can be great, and they definitely have a special place in the holiday landscape, but it really is just too soon for our taste. In a way, it's kind of a crude reminder that 2018 will be coming to an end soon. Well, there are still three months left, but this makes it feel soon! We want to ignore the passing of time, not have it thrown into our faces with carols and candy canes. Seeing the decorated stores in November is bad enough!

All that being said, we won't try to keep you from it if it's what your heart desires. According to Lad Bible, the channel is called "True Christmas" and can be found on Freeview - 62, Sky - 185, and Virgin - 424 (whatever those are). Hopefully most of you will note it for future viewing in December. Please give Halloween the love and respect it deserves.

Time for your thoughts... Should Christmas stay in December where it belongs or is this just a fun way to extend the winter holidays? What about autumn? Is she fine or is this an attack on her character?

Halloween is my wedding anniversary and mine and my husband's favorite holiday. It was bad enough that Christmas took Thanksgiving over (those poor turkeys!) but do they have to take Halloween too?! Soon we'll live in the land of Christmas365 and that will be a frightening time.

There should be a channel that plays “A Christmas Story” on a continuous loop 365 days a year. It’d surely win a major award until someone shoots their eye out.

The problem is there are only a handful of good Christmas movies. Then there’s about 5,000 Hallmark movies, all with the same plot.

Christmas crap shouldn't show up until the Advent. Let Halloween and Thanksgiving (and for those across the pond, Guy Fawkes Day) have their time, and keep Happy Happy Commerce Day confined to December.

My birthday is December 1st, and every year all I want is to make it to the end of my birthday without hearing a single Christmas song. Keep that shit in December, preferably starting on the 2nd.

17th of December here. Yeah, I've got a different reason for hating Christmas, mostly stemming from relatives wanting to push my birthday party off until the 24th or 25th just so they could get 'just the one' present. That, and I absolutely despise Christmas music.
