Today, when walking to my car I was mugged. Not only did they take my phone, wallet and watch, the extra few minutes taken in my journey meant that when I got to my car, I was given a parking ticket. FML

I'm sure you can get out of it if you tell the judge. Just make sure you file a report on the mugging and bring a copy of the case file with you.

Where does he mention he was illegally parked, or perhaps i'm being stupid for assuming that he was parked next to a meter which ran out knowing that traffic wardens will see they're about to run out and stand next to them counting down so they can fill their quota. Sorry OP, FYL.

for everyone that clicked 'ydi', you have no idea where the OP was or if it was their fault for taking an unsafe street... maybe they take that street home everyday and on this day out of the ordinary they were mugged, or maybe they were running late (as their parking meter ran out) and it was getting dark out, but that was the only way to get to their car- basically you don't know the details. so stop saying YDI. no one 'deserves' to be mugged
