Why would your husband's dad buy your boyfriend a car?

You'd think he'd disapprove of you having a side piece rather than give him a car, unless you're in some weird polyandrous marriage.

If he's your boyfriend then his father isn't your father in law. Sucks that HE got a new car but it's a man buying his son a car. If your boyfriend has insurance file a claim and make him pay for a new car for you. If he doesn't have insurance it's your fault for letting him drive YOUR car. Either way doesn't sound like he gives much of a shite about you.

I think that when OP refers to "Father in law" she means her boyfriend's father. I've seen that before, some of my friends refer to there boyfriend's parents as their in law. But "potential in law" would be more accurate.
(in case if your comment was second degree, I'm sorry, I don't do well with second degree ^^)

True, I completly agree with what you said about language. The FML remains in the fact that, OP had a car her boyfriend borrowed and destroyed, and he is the one getting a new car still while OP doesn't have her car anymore...

So your in laws bought your boyfriend a car? Do your in laws approve of you cheating on their son with another man?

Or are you calling your boyfriend’s parents your in laws, because that is not how that works.

I call my fiancé’s mother mom. There ain’t nothin wrong with it. I’ve always called her mom since the day I met her and she always loved me calling her mom. What in the world? If my fiancé wrecked my car and his mom bought him a new one you know my foot is about to be up someone’s @sz
