Today, I went swimming with this guy I like at dammed river. While we were jumping off the dam, I decided to try to impress him by doing a front flip. I didn't jump far enough off, so when I went to flip, my face skidded down the concrete wall. FML

Today, we were hanging around the pool with a couple of friends and a crush of mine. Thinking I would be able to impress her with a well-performed dive off the diving board, I went up and attempted my best dive. I slipped as I jumped, hitting my head on the board. I had to be saved by the lifeguard. FML

Today, I tried to impress our swim team coach by doing a complicated backflip from the diving board. I landed face-first in the pool and had to be rescued by the lifeguard, so I guess I won't be going to the Olympics any time soon. FML

Today, me and my friend were following this hot lifeguard around a waterpark. In the wave pool, I decided to be cute and "accidentally" bump into him during the waves to start a conversation. As I prepared to do this, a large wave pushed me off my feet and I fell face-first into his butt. FML

Today, I was at the beach with a group of friends, including the guy I like. As soon as we got to the beach, I ran toward the water and he chased after me. It was a beautiful moment until I looked back at him, tripped, fell on my face and slid down the beach. FML

Today, my boyfriend and I were having a shower together for the first time. He was trying impress me and did some sort of dance move, he slipped, and when he fell he kicked my leg out causing me to fall and hit my face on the faucet. FML

Ouch! I hope your ok! When I read this, I ould imagine my own face sliding down a concrete wall and the pain that would ensue. I really hope your ok... However, if there were signs that said "no diving," you deserved it. If there weren't any signs, then sue someone so there will be signs.

Aww I was about to post the Juno quote. I've been using it a lot lately. To the OP, if there was a sign saying "No Diving", you completely deserved this. I don't see why people really need to show off for members of the opposite sex. As seen in a lot of these FMLs, it never works out well. On a side note, I hope your face recovers...

so you were upside down while your face skidded down the concrete wall? how did you not bash your head into the wall as well? well, at any rate that's gotta hurt. YDI for not being more careful and making sure you cleared the wall, but FYL for the pain/embarrassment

Never ever try to do any kind of flip into water unless you know how. You're going to bash your head/face or at the very least land wrong and look like a twat. YDI.
