Today, I was overdrawn $15 at the bank. I paid in my last $80 in cash, only for them to inform me that I've been slapped with $90 in overdraft fees. FML

I've been there so I can say from experience that it is 100% your fault. If you had the cash, you should've dropped it into your account before cheques came in. Also, why didn't you just deposit $20? Then you'd at least have $60 in your pocket. If you've never overdrawn your account before, you could ask the bank to reverse the fees as a one-time courtesy.

this is now considered usury and is extremely illegally, switch to a credit union, they're much better

YDI for multiple reasons. 1) For not knowing how much money is in your bank account. 2) For spending beyond your means. 3) For not knowing what your bank policies and charges are. Personal finance is important, especially these days. Time to get a handle on it...

Banks are EVIL!!! Go with a credit union. Most do not charge overdraft fees.

When I first saw this, I read it as "overdraft feces". Then I realised. -_____-

That's the bank system for you : totally evil.

I work for a bank. We reverse fees unless you have already had too many. Why you might have so many is because most banks charge for each purchase that overdrew your account. I'm sorry this happened though. It sucks :(

I don't know why people are so surprised when they get overdraft fees. You're spending money you don't have. And the bank charges you for that. Don't spend what you don't have and you won't have a problem.
