right, but probably more so like the tenant has 48 hours to request a copy.. which, this was left out, but the OP didn't say whether or not they requested one immediately.. Idk, I would have asked right away for one.

I make sure to always get a copy of the lease within 24 hours of signing one and not backing down until I have a copy. Have only had to do that once and bug them for two days but got it.

Why do you sign something and walk away without a copy right then and there? There's supposed to be 2 copies that everyone signs at the same time so that everyone has one. If they don't give you that, don't sign anything.

Why did you not make a copy before you signed it? Cross your T's dot you I, check your P's and Q's cover your own ass....... Most of the rest of us also had to learn this rule the difficult way, same as you.
