Today I noticed a large crack in my windscreen. 2 weeks after getting it replaced. The warranty doesn't cover cracks. Several attempts were needed to replace it last time for reasons like losing the new windscreen and telling me they can't make it that day and turning up any way after going out. FML

Cracks are usually covered by insurance, since the insurance company realizes it's cheaper to fix. Also, cracks are covered by warranty, they are lying to you. (I replaced windshields for a summer).

In the state of Florida, you have to have insurance specifically for it. Even my sister's boyfriend who pays for really expensive insurance covers everything but that.

My insurance refuses to replace the windshield or even cover part of the price so I refuse to replace it.

You have seriously crappy insurance. Most companies know that it is cheaper in the long run. Also, if you get in an accident with cracked insurance you will be at fault to your insurance company will be picking up the bill anyway. But then again, there is no limit to the shortsightedness and cheapness of corporate bean counters.

In the UK your insurance should cover it for around a £70 excess and no impact on your no claims bonus.
