Surgery on both hands with a fever that high bullshit not to mention driving that long to school on top through snow. If you’re going to lie at least make it believable.

My high school was also a magnet school, so we had kids from half the state coming. A lot of them had to drive or get rides if they missed the bus, which would take 2 hours or so anyway.

Getting surgery is a medical excuse, and the school should be able to work with you to do your finals when and how you can. However, surgeons would not do the surgery on you if you had any fever, let alone a fever of 104. Also, if you're a minor, I'm pretty sure your parents HAVE to be with you when you get surgery to sign the medical POA paperwork.

I think this is bullshit. I’m pretty sure after surgeries they don’t let you drive yourself home. As the affect of anesthesia hasn’t worn off yet.
You said you didn’t get any anesthesia. What kind of surgery did you get? Also I saw other people comment that they don’t do surgery if you have a fever.
Not sure if this is true or not. I was young when I had a few surgery’s so I’m not sure on that one, but wouldn’t surprise me if it true.

I’ve had many hand surgeries on both hands, 5 out of 7 were without general anesthetic, but they do a block or just freeze the heck out of your arm. (On a positive note, it’s one of the coolest things to see). BUT they wouldn’t do it if there was any sign of a cold (sniffles, cough or fever), they also wouldn’t let you drive for 24 hours. Your school should have worked with you while you recovered at home. Also if your parents couldn’t have come home, they should have called the school. This doesn’t sound right, kinda fishy. 🤔

What a pile of BS. It's not rue and if it were, you'd really come to bitch about it instead of trying to do something about it? As if a HS would still make you do your exams and your parents are shitty enough to leave their child alone for surgery. Get a life fr
