wtf i just got laid off.... i think they needed an excuse to fire you, not lay you off so they would have to actually pay you severance or unemployment...why else would they fire you for something lame as that

So your supervisor praised you at your review, then a few minutes (hours?) later said you were fired, eh? Yeah, this is believable. Next!

i feel like if you explained yourself they wouldn't be able to come up with an adequate excuse. if you actually ended up being fired you could sue for wrongful termination because if you were doing well enough to be offered a raise, at least someone liked the work you were doing. thats just weird.

you can definitely get unemployment but they will probably make something up about you being late. alot of companies are disputing unemployment claims because they dont want to pay there part . be prepared to defend yourself

I am a paralegal and I have seen cases like this before, this is definitely wrongful termination. An attorney will take your case on what's called contingency fee basis, which means you don't pay a dime until you settle or win $$. I'm telling you, you have a great case - I would look into it I think it would be worth your time especially in this economy. They may give you your job back or you could stand to win a shitton of money!!
