Age discrimination protects older employees. Not younger. (At least in my state).

Edit: nope - not just my state. It’s federal.

“The Age Discrimination in Employment Act of 1967 (ADEA) protects certain applicants and employees 40 years of age and older from discrimination on the basis of age in hiring, promotion, discharge, compensation, or terms, conditions or privileges of employment. The ADEA is enforced by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC)”

That depends on whether OP was on probation or not.

Doesn’t protect younger employees.

That’s just one statute specifically defining one protected class, but that is not necessarily exhaustive.

What about employers who won’t hire women of child-bearing age?

The point is probably moot because no employer is dumb enough to state that age was their reason for firing a bunch of people. Usually, they’ll have trumped-up “write-ups” to cover their asses and provide a paper-thin justification.

Also, a quick search specifically states that there are no federal laws protecting teens from age discrimination in the workplace. It’s unlikely that OP’s state has specific laws for this, though it’s possible.

If you are from the US and live in a right to (fire you for no reason) work state, too bad so sad, you guys voted for that crap. Union is the only way to go.

Some are saying that this could be age discrimination, and that very well may be. But as I understand it(and I could be wrong), the age protection laws only apply to those over 40.

That's not legal
Round up everyone under 20 and file a lawsuit on that ass

In the meantime, is it possible to borrow the money for the tickets off friends or family and pay them back later?? It's not fair you don't get a treat after working hard
