Today, I folded a stack of 2,500 brochures for the new exhibit we're putting on at the museum where I work. As I was finishing up, I got an email. The dates have just been changed, so all the brochures have to be reprinted and refolded. FML

This is why I always procrastinate on my work. Ok, maybe not.

I thought museums were supposed to be eco friendly?

Sounds like you need to buy a folding machine. Those things work rather fast and you don't have to do anything but load the paper stack and watch

The museum probably couldn't afford one. Most of them can't even afford to pay their staff. Museums tend to be run by volunteers, with only the management getting paid. This is the case because museums do not get high enough visitor numbers for them to be able to afford to pay their staff. I volunteer in a museum and agree with this system. Roughly 60% of our staff are paid, and that's a high number. The upkeep costs of our artefacts run into the millions, there is no way we could afford to pay the other 40% of our staff. Museum workers work there because they are passionate about their jobs. For the staff who do get paid, there is zero room for upwards progression. It is literally the case that you get promoted when the manager above you dies of old age. And that's if you don't die first. So like I said... They probably can't afford a paper folder.
