dating can end up leading to marriage and I would be hard pressed to continue a relationship with someone who buys things because "they're cheap"...

i understand that's his money, but I don't understand why some ppl waste their money on things they don't really need.
The issue here for the people missing the point. The OP's partner is showing a lack of financial control. buying something because it is cheap but you will never use it can lead to problems such as debt and hoarding. A huge part of fights people have are over money, so yes it is his money but wasting it sets a bad example for the future
