Today, I decided to brush up on my flirting skills and ask a guy I thought was kind of cute what time it was. He pointed to the very visible watch on my wrist and said "You should know already". FML

You should've said "It stopped"

#4, or it proves that "what time is it" is probably the least flirtatious line possible, next to "where's the bathroom I need to take a monster dump".

You should've said "It stopped"

the moving seconds hand would have given it away

Then he would look at it and say: no that's the right time.

ouch!! thats a conversation stopper. bless!! you clearly need to improve your skills or maybe try it on a guy who is more receptive to your advances. He sounds cocky anyway.

I don't understand how the guy is cocky when all he told her was that "You should know already".

People say lots of silly things when they're nervous and trying to flirt. A guy once asked my sister if he could borrow her cart in a grocery store. They dated for years. It seems like it was obvious she was just awkwardly trying to start a conversation. He could have been a good sport and not made her feel like an idiot.

well it isn't the brighest thing to say to open a conversation with a watch on. Next time take off your watch.

at least you like people with a sense of humor.

I concur with #11. He probably thought you genuinely wanted to know the time... Keep working on those flirting skills, OP.

"Timeless." I like that.

you're a dumbass.

time to remember you already own a watch?. lol. I would have said. I don't know. may i look at your watch to see? i don't carry one.

uber lawl at #10 Seriously though ( no offence to guys) they are oblivious to things like that. Guys don't read into things like women do. If a guys asked for some paper in class a women would get giddy (if she liked him) and do the whole Omg he talked to me, it's a sign... random crap. If you ask a guy the time he thinks you're asking the time. thats it. Men are simple, (for the most part)
