Today, I came back from a 700-mile round trip. I hit a massive pothole I couldn't avoid and blew out a tire and bent my rim. I was less than a mile from my house. FML

They say 52% of accidents occur within 5 miles of home. This is why you should never go home.

Damn, FYL indeed. Too bad it couldn’t have happened ruining through your trip, ruining the remaining half and making it harder to get back.

That sucks but hey at least you didn't do it on a company car like I did. Explaining the damage to your boss is not fun >.< just make sure none of the other suspension components are damaged and the alignment is ok.

I’d rather it be a company car. Accidents happen, your employer should accept that. But better a car that isn’t mine.

that has also happened to me. I was a little further away from home, but exactly the same thing happened. Ever since then, I always keep a couple cans of tire sealant in my trunk, and I invested in a portable compressor to hook up to the car's cigarette lighter. the sealant is not permanent, but I managed to wait till the next day when I could get in for an appointment to get everything fixed. I suggest you do the same. Haha
