This Summer's Big Treasure Hunt on FML is far from over. Have you played it? What are you waiting for?

The size of the map in FML's Treasure Hunt has just doubled in size! This means you'll be more likely to stumble upon treasure, bringing you nearer to the big iPhone prize and $1 500 in the shape of Amazon gift vouchers.

All aboard!

(Everyone starts out small)

There's quite a few of you moving around the game's map, but it's now gotten bigger as we've opened the second sector! This means you've now got more places to travel around, grabbing treasure to add to your collection along the way, battling with other players, earning points, and acting all tough in the port's tavern… there's stuff to be done!

Here's what it looks like right now:

Come and join us on the high seas!

There's over 1 500 players who are roaming the map, getting along fine (despite the battles and treason) and there's been more than 66 000 battles between your ships. Up until now, the players have collected over 3 500 relics, each one more "WTF?" than the other. Like this one:

(What's this then?)

The pirates of FML have stormed in and taken hold of 4 000 treasure chests, opened them and collected more than 1 230 315 gold coins! A huge bounty, as well as all the experience points that have been earned in total: 17 421 000 XP. The players are getting richer and richer, and closer and closer to the main prize! You can still join them and win things for yourself by creating an account (if you don't already have one)!

There, you have all the information you need! You just need to come play, battle and win!

For more information, click on Geena Davis in this still from Cutthroat Island:

To take part, all you need to do is click on "Treasure Hunt" in the menu at the top of the site, or click on the picture below:

What are you waiting for? Come and join in the fun!

I don't know what else to call them. ;) The little black spots on the map with an anchor icon. Merchants are at those locations and you can use gold coins to buy inventory items you don't already have, usually to complete collections.

Moving your ship around also increases your experience, which helps you to level up. In fact, that's where most of my leveling up came from. I'm now in the 30s level-wise and it comes mostly from drawing giant X's on the available grid area (ex. going from coordinate 0 to coordinate 4999 on the currently available map, etc.). If you prefer moving randomly around during your waking time, I at least suggest setting your ship on the longest course you can come up with before going to bed, that way your ship is moving, gaining experience, and maybe even levelling up, all while you're asleep. On another note, one of my biggest complaints is that the merchant ports don't replenish or update their stock. They've had the exact same items for sale since day one. Part of me wants to buy up all of the items in one of the ports to see if that will force the merchant to sell new items or if they will stay sold out for the duration of the game. It would be nice to see them refresh their stock at least once a week.
