Retiree Accidentally Steals A Car At Grocery Store

We've all gotten confused in parking lots before, but things only go this wrong for a special few.
The incident happened in Mazé, not far from Angers in France. In case your French geography is a little rough, it's basically a few hours southwest of Paris.
Could be a nice place to retire, right? Well this past Friday, according to actu.fr, a retired man stole a car from the grocery store parking lot there by accident. Around 3:30 pm, he went to the Super U, got some cash at their ATM, and hopped into a car that wasn't his to drive home.
A few minutes later, a woman exited the store with her shopping and, unable to find her car, panicked and called the police. The cops came and watched the store surveillance footage, easily spotting the unintentional thief. In the video, he searched his pockets for his keys, noticed the keys in the ignition, and drove off.
What finally made it click for him? The weirdly adjusted seat? The unfamiliar interior? The smell of someone else's perfume? Nope! It was his dog! When he realized that his beloved pooch wasn't in the vehicle with him, he raced back to the parking lot.
Leave it to a dog to save the day, eh? All's well that ends well!
