New Study Says That Watching The Kardashians Does Actually Make You A Worse Person

Good news to all the die hard Kardashian-haters out there: a new study has recently revealed that watching the hit E! show can actually make you into a worse person.
New research from the London School of Economics found that even just one minute of exposure to materialistic media is enough time to significantly increase anti-welfare sentiment. Shame, shame.
“Humans are inherently materialistic but also very social and communal. The way this is expressed depends on our culture. If there is more emphasis on materialism as a way to be happy, this makes us more inclined to be selfish and anti-social, and therefore unsympathetic to people less fortunate." Study author Dr Rodolfo Leyva of LSE’s Department of Media and Communications said. “This study can contribute to explanations for why the UK public’s support for welfare to aid the impoverished and unemployed has been decreasing.”
During the study 487 adults were shown ads of luxury products, tabloid photos of famous celebrities showing off expensive goods, and newspaper headlines of rags-to-riches stories. Another control group was exposed to neutral images such as the London underground, natural scenery and newspaper headlines about dinosaurs.
Now, I'm not saying I would go so far as to call myself a Kardashian fan, but I will say that I am fascinated by the intensity of rage people's have towards the family, and I cannot say I understand it. The most vocal argument I've heard was that none of them are talented and that they don't actually do anything, to which I'm inclined to respond.... so? It's not like they're getting paid from your tax dollars!
Got a counter argument? I'd love to hear it in the comments.
