He didn’t choose her over you. He chose addiction & someone who won’t resist it. Sometimes when people tell you who they are, you need to believe them. It must hurt after years of trying, but he has to change himself. And you need to care about yourself, too.

Agreed, at this point he and his partner are in fact a literal danger to you. Change the locks, bar all points of entry et an alarm system and a restraining order. Divorce him and move on with your life with your head held high, you tried, you really did.

It sounds like your problem has been solved. He made his choice and I’m sorry that he has an addiction, I know what it’s like dealing with someone with an addiction. What you need to do now is change the locks and Get a divorce. Don’t let him back into the house to get his stuff unless you are there. Or you can bring is stuff to him. What ever you feel comfortable with. If he’s not willing to get help, then there’s nothing that you can do. Hopefully he will get in trouble with the law and they can force him to get the help that he need. Hopefully he will get better, and that’s the most important thing for him right now.
