(0)Don't do it dude,
Tell your company to take a long jump a short cliff.
(+1)lmao that makes no sense the expression is take a long walk off a short pier you fucking idiot
(0)and you are a wanker mate
(0)I agree

(+1)It's called keeping good relations for future references. Rather important if he'd want to get another job once he gets (inevitably) canned.
Damned if you do, damned if you don't, but he oughtn't make it worse on himself
(0)#5. #1 said long jump. Not long walk. R-E-A-D next time
(0)Or quit and they don't have a trainer or replacement

(0)ydi for being fired
(0)What kind of job is this? Why would you even take such a job?
(0)The OP probably didn't know this was going to happen when he took the job. Things change quickly in companies sometimes and all of a sudden they may want to move your job overseas.
(0)I'm guessing your serverance is tied to this training. It sucks either way.
(0)That sucks, why don't you get a better job and not waste your time with a shitty company like that?
(0)Do and do it well. Then start a training business helping other companies in similar situations.
(0)quit. that'll teach 'em!

(0)That's stupid.
(+1)I was in pretty much the same boat when my department got downsized. The trick is to leave out something that they won't address for quite some time after you're gone. I *forgot* to train them on certain end of the year processes. That job ended at the beginning of the year, and I got the first voicemail from my old employer last week, asking if I was available to help them out on something. Suck it, fools.
(0)heh heh. good for you. Stick-it to the man.
(0)Not always the case. Most often when outsourcing like that it's because they can pay someone much less for doing the same job. Sort of how most tech support jobs are in India. They have the same general skills, but because the cost of living is as low as it is they are paid much less.
(0)This sounds like a lose-lose for you. I'm sorry.

(+1)they's gonna take -er job?

(0)They broke his jaw?
(0)My dad had a job with Boeing in Saudi Arabia doing the same exact thing. He had to train them how to fix AWACS planes. He busted his ass so much though, that they gave him a promotion. He now is a supervisor and gets renewed every 3 years with a new contract. Bust your ass and prove to your boss that you can work, and they will keep you.
(0)lol. Well do a good job. They don't fire you if you do. You get layed off and possibly severance pay. Do what #10 said. This reminds me of when this guy layed me off and than he got layed off the next day.
(0)should've been a goat herder.
(0)What if you train them to do a mediocre job? Not well enough for them to be hired, but not bad enough for you to be fired.
(0) hooray for outsourcing!! but seriously fyl dude that sucks Ive seen it happen and it is really messed up how they do that stuff to people. greedy corporate faggots
(0)This is why office shootings happen cause greedy corporate morons who can't recognize the value of good employees.
(0)then quit, durr
(0)Just teach them the MJ "thriller" dance. HQ will be greatly impressed.
(0)I may live in the U.S. but I feel your pain... overseas jobs are what we're always bitching about, FYL.
(0)Either quit or teach them badly.
(0)There isn't even a decision to make here. The only choice is to train them badly.
(0)Step One - Get a new job (quickly).
Step Two - Quit before said training is complete.
Derp.
(0)if there is no possible way to keep your job, find a new job and train them to do exactly opposite of what the company wants from them...might as well F&%* over the company that is screwing you over.
If there is a chance they might keep you, do a kickass job and prove you are valuable.
Either way, better hit the classifieds
(0)take the people you're training down with you, train them badly
it'll hurt the company
they might not deserve it
but they are worth more to the company
than they are to you
(0)Upper Managers are always forward thinkers. Train them terribly, then quit before they can fire you. Management FAIL.
(0)Well either way you lose; may as well quit while you are ahead.
(0)No choice. Kill yourself.

(0) my suggestion, start looking for a new job.
(0)It sucks to be replaced by a bunch of 12-year olds.
(0)well quit durr
(0)quit your job and tell your boss to go fuck rm self
