Man or woman?

Today, I noticed that in my cover letter I wrote "I also have an eye.", instead of "I also have an eye for details.", and I have been sending it out for the past few weeks. No wonder I haven't gotten any replies. FML

I agree, your life sucks (4156) - you totally deserved it (14448)

Ever try proofreading??

#1 - On 11/14/2009 at 2:05pm by twenty2182

What a fucked up CV. You never use slangs, idioms etc in the CV. YDI totally!!!

#53 - On 11/15/2009 at 12:12am by wtfwts

Wow, I wish I had one of those.

#2 - On 11/14/2009 at 2:08pm by shaister

Just what I was thinking.

#33 - On 11/14/2009 at 5:37pm by dudeitsdanny

At least the irony's not readily apparent from her omission alone...

#56 - On 11/15/2009 at 5:46am by pikantna777

haha!!! that's awesome!! but sucky. :(

#3 - On 11/14/2009 at 2:09pm by manga

So you're not supposed to have eyes? That's interesting.

#4 - On 11/14/2009 at 2:11pm by besad

Well, it's not generally something you brag about in a cover letter... unless I've just been doing it wrong this whole time. Oh my god, maybe THAT'S why I don't have a job!

#18 - On 11/14/2009 at 3:29pm by kxs401

YDI for not proof-reading!

#5 - On 11/14/2009 at 2:13pm by Mellieexbabee

hmm...meaning you really don't have an eye for detail...but you do have eyes. so, what you sent out is basically correct. :)

#6 - On 11/14/2009 at 2:15pm by peroxideprincess

It's only correct if she only has one eye.

#12 - On 11/14/2009 at 2:38pm by kozmikstarz

...FYL

#7 - On 11/14/2009 at 2:20pm by Dazzozo

now that sucks.

#8 - On 11/14/2009 at 2:25pm by chellinha93

Why does it seem like there are so many resume FMLs? BORING.

#9 - On 11/14/2009 at 2:34pm by kozmikstarz

Oh no! LOL That's very funny. They may have thought you only had one eye too. hahaha

#10 - On 11/14/2009 at 2:34pm by omghehehe

You kinda deserve that.

#11 - On 11/14/2009 at 2:35pm by mikadelic

Oh the irony. I guess you demonstrated that you certainly don't have an eye for detail. (no 's' on the end of detail. Not much of a perfectionist, are you?)

#13 - On 11/14/2009 at 2:39pm by ginwl

I wanted to say this, but you beat me to it. ^_^

#39 - On 11/14/2009 at 6:28pm by endless_text

Wrong. You didn't get a reply because they were hiring people with 2 eyes. Your single eye didn't make the cut. Pirate discrimination?

#14 - On 11/14/2009 at 2:48pm by Peroxide

Way to brag your way out of a job, Cyclops.

#15 - On 11/14/2009 at 2:55pm by mercyFML

LMAO

#43 - On 11/14/2009 at 7:35pm by patticake1601

This made me giggle a lot. Thank u for allowing your misfortune to brighten my day :)

#16 - On 11/14/2009 at 3:13pm by DarkJoy

Cyclops FTW!

#17 - On 11/14/2009 at 3:19pm by Phil_McCracken

#49 - On 11/14/2009 at 10:11pm by jem1991

looks like somebody lied about having an eye for details....

#20 - On 11/14/2009 at 3:34pm by hello1324

Ok, this one made me roll on the floor laughing until my cheeks hurt. OP, while I feel sorry for you this is unquestionably YDI. I'm going to go laugh some more :D

#21 - On 11/14/2009 at 3:48pm by lostfaithinpppl

I laughed so hard, I almost peed my pants!

OP, I'll see your eye, and raise you another eye, a nose, a mouth and two ears!

#51 - On 11/14/2009 at 10:50pm by SarcasticAvenger

Haha, this made me laugh.
You should probably have proof read it before sending several out though. Especially something as important as a resume'.

#22 - On 11/14/2009 at 4:00pm by ShannaBanana17

Wow. I burst out laughing for a good five seconds.

#23 - On 11/14/2009 at 4:19pm by drybamboo

This should become an extension of Muphry's law.

#24 - On 11/14/2009 at 4:50pm by nick339

I laughed. I laughed a lot.

#26 - On 11/14/2009 at 5:08pm by DameGreyWulf

don't worry, no company reads cover letters anyway

#27 - On 11/14/2009 at 5:09pm by nishman686

pmsl!

#28 - On 11/14/2009 at 5:09pm by cant_stand_this

#29 - On 11/14/2009 at 5:11pm by beethoven

#30 - On 11/14/2009 at 5:22pm by ohglory

LMFAO
i need to try that

#31 - On 11/14/2009 at 5:25pm by Mauskau

i have an eye too ... two of them!!! OMG

#32 - On 11/14/2009 at 5:31pm by sjbartholome

Furthermore, you screwed up the punctuation in this FML.

Yes, this is indicative of SOMETHING.

#34 - On 11/14/2009 at 5:39pm by TheTragicReturn

This is one of the funniest FMLs I've read in a long time, weirdly. Something about the way it's phrased-- "In addition to my leadership and teamwork capablities, I also have an eye." Heh.

#35 - On 11/14/2009 at 5:50pm by devendra

Win.

#46 - On 11/14/2009 at 9:20pm by EmmaElaine

enhanced this post!

#36 - On 11/14/2009 at 5:50pm by Let_it_Be1

I'd hire you. I'm fucking sick of all these applicants without eyes. What's up with them, anyway?

#37 - On 11/14/2009 at 6:10pm by callargh

hahahaha

#44 - On 11/14/2009 at 8:10pm by omghehehe

OMG lol.

#38 - On 11/14/2009 at 6:21pm by mjluver4life

YDI for using cliches and not getting anyone to proofread your cover letter.

#40 - On 11/14/2009 at 6:58pm by xd0rkiee

Well, since you don't seem to have an eye for detail, any job that hired you for that probably wouldn't last long.

#41 - On 11/14/2009 at 7:10pm by Anberu

I find it really ironic how the OP like... meant to say "an eye for details" but instead didn't... rofl...
Yup, irony.

#42 - On 11/14/2009 at 7:23pm by failuristic

To everyone who said it was funny because it shows she doesn't have an eye for detail after all....I don't think that was lost on her when she posted it.

What she should've said if asked is that she wanted to see if her potential employer also was detail conscious since details are very important to her.

#45 - On 11/14/2009 at 8:48pm by 3P0N1N3

Ironic.

#47 - On 11/14/2009 at 10:05pm by technobutterfly

Eyeronic.

#48 - On 11/14/2009 at 10:09pm by Chopperman

lol OP should proof read...and lmfao at 48 you win lol

#50 - On 11/14/2009 at 10:44pm by thenixter

LOL. That's ironic.

#52 - On 11/14/2009 at 11:43pm by lightmaster

This made me laugh really hard.

#54 - On 11/15/2009 at 2:28am by Rijii

ty for making me laugh.

#55 - On 11/15/2009 at 5:31am by Lollercoasterz

Oh no worries, my resume had OBJECTIVE up at the top with two letters missing for months... course I got my current job off it... seems they didn't notice either =)

Course also, YDI for it being your cover letter. I write a unique one for every job I apply to.

at least you didn't end up lying, despite your best attempt...

#59 - On 11/15/2009 at 12:31pm by TheDaveCA

I don't get this. Wouldn't an eye be considered an important qualification for most jobs? Unless the companies you applied for jobs with are being nitpicky and want someone with two.

#60 - On 11/16/2009 at 3:08am by Ninjaface

LMBO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
