By no talk no job - 18/08/2016 17:52 - United States - Staten Island

Today, after waking up from after 12 hour shift, my job called me saying I was late. Apparently my manager switched my shift without telling me. Now I'm down a job. FML

My manager switched a bunch of people's shifts the night before without telling anyone and a bunch of people got written up for it , thankfully I closed and the opener text me to let me know beforehand

The job that did this had a habit of doing this to a lot of employees. I ended up leaving that job for a better job (unrelated to this incident)

Isn't changing a shift without notifying the employee illegal or something similar? At the very least, you could try bringing it up with HR, if you aren't working under the table.
