Today, a customer bitched at me in front of her children for 10 minutes because I wouldn't open the store half an hour early for her to buy a cupcake. We barely had started filling the case. FML

How was she able to bitch at you if the store was closed?

I know where I work out exit door is unlocked an hour early so employees can get in to open up, maybe this was the case and the customer figured this out? If not maybe the specific part of the store opened at a different time than the rest.

I hate customer service for that very same kind of scenario. So many people still think that "the customer is always right" is every businesses motto and they think if they bitch loud and long enough they will get their own way. I hope you put her in her place, politely of course for the sake of the children and your job.

She only had to wait 20 mins for her cupcake after that argument.. Odd way to pass the time but it was probably entertaining for the kiddos.
