Today, my film teacher blatantly accused me of plagiarism of the phrase, "Over the stormy sea." After meeting with the principle, I was confident that nothing would come of it, as 4 words are not enough. Guess who just had a major incident report put on his permanent record for college. FML

A long time ago... Once upon a time... It was a dark... There, I just plagiarized 3 times according to their standards! Come and get me asshats! Seriously though OP, this sounds like a perfect case to take to a higher authority and may even qualify for legal action. Explore your options and maybe teach those morons a lesson they obviously need.

You should be able to appeal that somewhere. Particularly as there is, presumably, no evidence that you intentionally used the phrase without credit. That said, depending how desperate you are, you could offer to take a 0 on the paper in exchange for be mark being removed. Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be a set punishment for plagiarism for all academic institutes, so you may be stuck having to try to keep your grades up enough to make the black mark negligible to schools. Or flat out beg for a way to get the mark rescinded, even if it means taking a course on plagiarism or whatever.
